Best Fashion Schools & Institutes

So I was thinking about my college days and was reminded of the times we used to spend in corridors. And then I realized that most of times were spent outside classrooms only. I was blessed to have a college with an awesome campus. We never used to run out of options for where to sit while we bunk classes. Canteens, gardens and hallways- amazing moments were spent there! We loved becoming audiences for the students who practiced for various events such as music, dance, sports and fashion shows. All thanks to the clubs and societies, we have had some of the best singers, dancers, actors and fashionistas in college. Who needs to go out for a formal event when you have so much in college to cheer for! Even the best Fashion Institute would fail while competing with the students of our college. And the yelling that we used to do for our college’s fashion society is significance of how much pride we showed in the performances of our college.

February used to be the time of annual fests. And the college used to get overly crowded by the students- of our college as well as of other colleges. Yes! That’s the kind of popularity we had acquired. In the three years of college life, we have seen fashion performances of various themes. Sometimes, the performance used to be based on the importance of ecology and the boys and girls used to go all green in their dresses and accessories. Some other times, the theme used to revolve around wildlife, and bang on! What a scene it used to be! Boys and girls covered up in animal printed clothes. Some of these people have even taken admissions is Best Fashion Schools of the city and are making their dream career.

Latest Trends in Interior Design

As people across the globe turn more and more individualistic by the day, the desire to design a home that is a true reflection of each unique personality is ever on the rise. Even if it’s not to display a distinct character, every now and then we just want to mix things up and go all out with a redecoration!

So, check out some of the latest trends in home décor that have been all the rage!

•    Go Gold
While it might seem a little flashy or overbearing, the colour gold is definitely making a comeback in interior design. Whether it’s rustic golden fixtures, a solitary gold cushion, a stately golden chest of drawers, or a repainted gold frame –gold is all the rage these days with interior decoration courses across the globe. You can also combine gold with other metallic hues.

•    Wondrous Wallpapers
Gone are the days of simple colours and textures on walls, wallpapers are the way to go. Statement prints and textured wallpapers now come out as the latest trends. You don’t have to go all out and wallpaper entire walls, you could also opt for statement prints here and there to funk up the walls!

•    White on White
White on white has always been a classic in interior design, even interior decoration courses must have a whole chapter dedicated to it because it’s a trend that never really goes out of style. It’s timeless and beautiful! It’s calming, soothing and refreshing (and in need of much maintenance). Texture and layer white on white for the best effects.

•    Flower Power
Floral prints are quite the talk of the town these days –across all kinds of spheres, even jewellery designing courses in delhi would be all up for floral! The best way to make floral prints work without making it look a tad much, is to keep it minimal. Throw in one large floral print based fixture or a few cushions and such, and you’re golden!

Fashion and Foot Wear

Fashion is one of those basic needs of a woman that she just cannot do without.  Without it, the world of a lady would be dull and colorless. From colorful clothes to eye catchy makeups, fashion is involved in whatever a woman wears and owns. Sometimes, it’s the exceptional shade of color that catches our attention and sometimes, the unmatchable pattern and design does the good. Although women have a longing for all kind of clothes and accessories available in the market, there is a special place for foot wears in their heart. Be it the traditional kolahpuris or the English bellies, the high heeled platform shoes or the stylish stilettos, women go on trying a number of foot wears and often own a huge collection of the same. Whether they are displayed against the glasses of a shopping mall or in the streets of a local market, foot wears catch the attention instantly and leave the girls lost in their fascination. The designs are made according to the taste of women. Different choices of women lead to a wide range of designs of foot wears. Thanks to the Footwear Design & Development Institute which have courses for the design and development of these foot wears. These institutes make the students aware of the wide range and varieties of the design that can be implemented while making a footwear, based on the choices of men and women.

Myths About Advertising and Branding

I keep getting a lot of questions from students aspiring to join brand management courses. Most of them are vague in their doubts as they keep listening to a lot of things from ‘people’ who in fact know lesser than them! These people are of no help, and end up confusing these budding advertising professionals. To all those, who share a dream to make it big in the world of advertising, the first thing you need to do is, tell myth from reality. There are lots of such myths which might sway your decision.

Here is the list of a few common myths (and truths) of the advertising world. You can check on them, shun the second thoughts, and be sure of your decision to join the sphere of branding and advertising.

Advertising is an unethical profession

No, unlike the belief, advertising is not selling products regardless of its quality. It is NOT selling in the first case. The purpose of advertising is different.  And trust me; it does not promote the idea of selling products which are not worth it. There are strict guidelines regarding that. Making claims which cannot be fulfilled are directly questionable under the CPA. So chill, it is much more than selling!

It is difficult to start

None of the fields provide you with an easy start.  But there is nothing exceptionally tough about advertising. It is common for even interns make their way right up to the top through the years. Creativity is an asset of an individual. It depends on how you employ your asset.

It is a glamorous and fun-filled career

What exactly is the point of criticism for a ‘glamorous’ job is beyond my comprehension. The definition of the same is, quite subjective. The perception of advertising as a fun-filled job is a big fat myth. Sure there is a lot of freedom in the workplaces in terms of expressing creativity, but that doesn’t mean it is always a party! There are nights of toil and hard work behind each ad campaign, little known by people. People don’t get paid for doing nothing, right?

Of Delhi Girls and Brands

Now, don’t let the title of this blog mislead you –it’s not got any negative connotation, as much as that seems to be the stereotype. Personally –and perhaps this opinion stems from that fact that I happen to be a part of the sample set I’ve decided to comment on- I think brands are fascinating.

Note that I do not say that brands are essential for the survival of humankind –but a little bit of glitz and glamour surely never hurt anybody, am I right? The world that we live in today is all about branding and advertising, and we can’t possibly deny the impact that it has on all of us –especially us Delhi girls!

Whether it’s clothes or shoes, accessories or footwear, or what have you, brands come into play whatever the item on the market be. Whether it’s a small brand or a big brand, is hardly the question –the point is that brands are ubiquitous. And so could you possibly condemn a Delhi girl’s obsession with brands? When all the brand management courses out there are incessantly throwing incredible brand advertisements at us –how can we help but succumb to the lure?

As long as a convincing marketing and advertising strategy is in place that really goes all out to sell a brand –the brand will make itself big, a company just has to sit back and let the experts do the job! And who are these experts working tirelessly behind the scenes to make a brand come to life? People who’ve done brand management courses from the best of institutions –people with minds driven to persuasion techniques that have us Delhi girls lolling over a pair of pants or some new pumps that hit the market!

Let’s face is, as much as we want to, the power of branding and advertising is simply undeniable –and not just restricted to Delhi girls but everyone across the globe, age no bar, gender no bar!

Top Fashion Designing Courses

Have you ever met someone with an impeccable sense of dressing? One of my teachers in college was so particular about everything that she wore that it was futile to even try to find flaws with her clothes and jewellery. But of all things, the various kinds of trendy jewellery she wore to college each day had me mesmerized on each occasion. Instead of focusing on her lecture, I focused on her jewellery and kept wondering where she obtained those from.

I truly admire those skilled at jewellery designing and making. There are various eminent schools in India offering jewellery designing courses that help the talented individuals further acuminate their existing skills. If you too are one of those people, do not hesitate to pursue this passion as your profession. You could either pursue a master’s degree further or go for an internship. The courses would help you widen your knowledge base about the different types of stones, various design themes, costing of jewellery, etc. You would also get the opportunity to learn about the manufacturing process involved in jewellery making. An inherent sense of design and creative imagination are two things that you need to begin with. You would eventually acquire other skills in your fashion school.

As every coin has two sides, a career in jewellery designing too has advantages and disadvantages both. Huge demand for good jewellery designers across India is one major advantage. India, a country that celebrates each festival with grandeur and enthusiasm, has always been known for its love for jewellery. The highly talented individuals find this profession hugely rewarding. Recognition of your work is what would help you earn well. Let’s talk about the disadvantages now. Jobs in this kind of industry are usually not advertised on the public platforms and hence it might get a tad bit difficult for you to find vacancies. The other disadvantage is for those who want to set up their own business as the initial cost involved is pretty high.

The fashion schools also offer various fashion design courses. Fashion designing has its own set of pros and cons.  Keeping in mind your talent and interest, you need to decide a specific field you would like to work in, in future. That would greatly determine your success when you are actually working in the fashion industry.
