Footwear Design & Fashion Development Institutes

And before you judge me for making this pompous statement, I request you to just hear me out. I am famous for my footwear not because I have a great taste, or that I have too much money, or that I am a footwear designer. I am famous for having an abundance of stylish and unique footwear because my super cool best friend is a footwear designer.

She is currently studying in the most well-known footwear design and development institute of the nation. And no, she does not gift me so many pairs just because I am her best friend. She is just repaying her debt of gratitude as I was the own who encouraged her to pursue a course centred on footwear design and development. I had always been keen on pursuing MBA from a leading management college. She, on the other hand, was as clueless as one can get. I remember the day when we were just chilling at a nearby cafĂ© when she pointed out something to me.  I saw her staring at one woman’s cute boots. She started rambling about how those boots were cute but could have looked even better if some other material were used. I ignored her since this was one of her most annoying habits. Pointing at other people’s footwear and talking at length about their material, style, cost etc. came very naturally to her. That day too she was in a mood to keep talking when suddenly an idea struck me. Seeing her passion for footwear, I suggested her to try for a footwear design course in the best fashion design colleges. She actually liked my idea for the first time. That very night she went home and did her research about all courses related to footwear. While courses related to footwear aren’t as well-known as other courses like fashion and interior designing, but they are slowly and steadily gaining popularity.

She started preparing for the entrances from the very next week and see where she is now. She loves her course and can never thank me enough. Now you say; do I not deserve to get free footwear from her? And because she is so good, I really am famous for my footwear.

Of Delhi Girls and Brands

Now, don’t let the title of this blog mislead you –it’s not got any negative connotation, as much as that seems to be the stereotype. Personally –and perhaps this opinion stems from that fact that I happen to be a part of the sample set I’ve decided to comment on- I think brands are fascinating.

Note that I do not say that brands are essential for the survival of humankind –but a little bit of glitz and glamour surely never hurt anybody, am I right? The world that we live in today is all about branding and advertising, and we can’t possibly deny the impact that it has on all of us –especially us Delhi girls!

Whether it’s clothes or shoes, accessories or footwear, or what have you, brands come into play whatever the item on the market be. Whether it’s a small brand or a big brand, is hardly the question –the point is that brands are ubiquitous. And so could you possibly condemn a Delhi girl’s obsession with brands? When all the brand management courses out there are incessantly throwing incredible brand advertisements at us –how can we help but succumb to the lure?

As long as a convincing marketing and advertising strategy is in place that really goes all out to sell a brand –the brand will make itself big, a company just has to sit back and let the experts do the job! And who are these experts working tirelessly behind the scenes to make a brand come to life? People who’ve done brand management courses from the best of institutions –people with minds driven to persuasion techniques that have us Delhi girls lolling over a pair of pants or some new pumps that hit the market!

Let’s face is, as much as we want to, the power of branding and advertising is simply undeniable –and not just restricted to Delhi girls but everyone across the globe, age no bar, gender no bar!

Make a Living Off Loving Shoes

Do words like Oxfords, Pumps, Wedges, Kitten Heels, Stilettoes, Moccasins, Loafers, Sneakers, Boots, Ballet Flats, and Espadrilles form the crux of your lexicon?

Does the very idea of a new pair of strappy and glossy heels make your eyes pop with desire? Do you rock those thigh-high leather boots every winter, and trade them in for the most trending sandals come summer time? Do you live for the day you can have your very own walk-in closet just like in the movies, with a wall-to-wall sky-high rack full of shoes of all shapes and colours

Well, if you’re nodding in fervent agreement, then you’re a crazy obsessed shoe junkie and proud of it!

Who could possibly elude the lure of those brand new pumps on the window at Aldo or Steve Madden? Have you absolutely maxed out your credit cards with the guilty pleasure of a positively enviable collection of footwear?

You know what, you don’t need to be a closet shoe junkie anymore! If you’re into shoes just that much, why don’t you make a career of it? Imagine making those little beauties!

If footwear fashion is just your kind of thing, then you could get yourself enrolled in a fashion university and make a living off of loving shoes. Could there be anything better? There are many fashion schools that have absolutely amazing footwear design courses. But you know what? It gets even better, at the footwear design & development institute, footwear is everything.

With a mission to become one of the world’s largest players when it comes to footwear design, the 8 campuses of the footwear design & development institute with a pan-India presence gives its students the best a fashion university could.

So don’t sit around and wait for the next trend in footwear –go out there and create it!
