Men Footwear Styles

We’ve all heard of types of women shoes. Flats, wedge heels, stilettos, boots and what not! In this ultra-fashionable world, these footwear come in a variety of styles, designs and materials such as leather, canvas, wood, plastic and jute. But we shouldn’t forget that men are entitled to the versatility of footwear just as much as ladies are! A footwear design & development institute gives study on the designs of footwear for both men and women. Here, let’s have a look at some of the popular types of men footwear, varied according to style and occasion.

•    Oxford: Oxfords are typical leather shoes of men with closed lacing and non-rubber sole. Although black oxfords best go with the formal suits, on for formal events, they can also be used in casual parties when worn in varying colors.
They’re basically like all-rounder shoes.

•    Loafers: The main feature of loafers is the absence of laces and buckles. These are like slip-ons of girls, which serve the casual purposes. They generally have heels, though fairly flat, giving them a dressy look.

•    Cap toes: Cap toes are like decorated oxfords. While oxfords are plain with no extra features on the top portion, cap toes are characterized with an extra layer or band of leather over the toe giving it an edgy and stylish look.

•    Dress boots: These are slim ankle length boots which hold the feet and legs snugly. Yes! Even men can wear boots. They are slightly heeled and look best with the slim fit denims.

•    Monk strap: Monk straps have same relation to loafers that cap toes have with oxfords. Yes! These are decorated loafers. Monk straps do not have laces, just like loafers but may have a metal buckle on sides.

And if the concept of designing these footwear interests you, you should take a “foot” forward and step into a fashion university.
